May 20, 2005 Lake Cliff Tower High-Rise Begins Construction with More than 50% of Homes Sold Construction signals the start of the metamorphosis of Lake Cliff Tower from a Dallas landmark and former luxury hotel built in 1928 to Oak Cliff's first modern luxury condominium high-rise. The tower will house 60 well-appointed residences, including a penthouse that features 360-degree views of downtown, the Trinity River corridor and Lake Cliff Park. David Griffin & Co. Realtors' The Cox Team is offering the one- and two-bedroom residences with prices ranging from $182,400 to $812,133. The grand opening of Lake Cliff Towers new sales center will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. May 22. "Pre-construction sales were better than expected," Keith Cox, vice president of David Griffin & Co. Realtors, says. "Now more than 50 percent of the tower is sold with a number of homes still available for selection." The grand opening of the tower's new sales center will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. May 22. Home features include granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, stained concrete flooring and exposed ceilings. The building's amenities include a wine cellar, a media room, a lounge and billiards room, a fire pit, a pool and a deck that offers views of Founders Park. The building will be pre-wired for digital cable and high-speed Internet connections and will have covered and secured parking for residents. In addition, a 24-hour doorman, a porter, a building engineer and a manager will staff the property. Lake Cliff Tower is a short distance from Methodist Hospital, the future Trinity corridor recreational development and the Bishop Arts District. Developed by Evergreen Realty Advisors, the high-rise condominium tower anchors the first phase of The Gateway Project, a mixed-use development that will also include a new commercial center across the street from the tower. "The support, advice and encouragement we have received from our community, city council members, city staff members and area business leaders is invaluable," Steve Everbach, managing partner of Evergreen Realty Advisors, says. "We are investing in what we hope will be a renaissance of Oak Cliff." Project credits include PB2 Architecture and Engineering, Precept Builders and Aida Latorre, interior designer.
